🌍 Natural Law & Earth Law Principles
1. Natural Law
(as recognized by ancient, legal, and philosophical traditions)
- Originates from creation, not manmade institutions.
- Based on principles of:
- Do no harm
- Right to self-preservation
- Truth and reciprocity
- Consent and jurisdiction
2. Earth Jurisprudence / Rights of Nature
(recognized in courts and modern legal systems)
- Nature and ecosystems have legal personhood.
- Ecuador & Bolivia have codified this.
- Whanganui River (NZ), forests, and lands recognized as living entities.
- Key Principles:
- Earth is not property — it is a living, sacred community.
- Humans are part of, not above, the natural order.
- All beings have the right to fulfill their role in the Earth community.
3. Gaia Theory
(James Lovelock & Indigenous cosmologies)
- Earth is a living organism with self-regulating systems.
- Any parasitic or disharmonious presence must be expelled or healed for the whole to survive.
